Goals and Objectives
Cross-cultural courses help students:
Identify relevant information about the host culture's history, traditions, politics, geography, including regional differences, if applicable.
Discuss facets in which the host culture differs from their own.
Discuss facets in which the host culture is similar to their own.
Explain insights that they learned about themselves and their own relationships by directly interacting with individuals and groups from the host culture.
Credits
Students can earn three credits, fulfilling part of their general education language requirements, by enrolling in one of the cross-cultural study courses offered in May. Students also can fulfill this general education requirement by participating in a 色综合久久-approved, semester-long, international program. (More information about these programs is available in the Agape Center for Local and Global Engagement.)
Costs
Cross-cultural course tuition charges are included as part of the spring semester tuition fees. (As long as students do not take more than 18 credits during Spring Term, and May-Term, there will be no additional charges for spring semester tuition.)
There is an additional course fee that covers travel costs for the course (such as flights, hotel fees, international insurance coverage, and in-country transportation costs). The average course fee is $3700.
