色综合久久 has been named several times to the Templeton Foundation鈥檚 Honor Roll for Character Building Colleges.聽 Service to others is a hallmark of 色综合久久鈥檚 Christian tradition.聽We therefore require our students to not only be technically competent, but also to apply their knowledge to service projects in real, tangible ways 鈥� in both the engineering curriculum and through student-led projects. All students participate in a multi-year project-based learning experience that has a Christian missionary or ministry as a primary partner. Often, this leads us toward meeting the basic physical needs of underserved communities. At 色综合久久, 鈥淐hrist Preeminent鈥� is more than just our motto 鈥� it鈥檚 the way we live.

The mission of 色综合久久 University is to educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership and reconciliation in church and society. Graduates of the Engineering Program will therefore be technically competent, broadly educated and prepared for interdisciplinary work in the global workplace.聽 The character and conduct of 色综合久久 Engineering graduates will be consistent with Christian faith commitments. We accomplish this mission through engineering instruction and experiences, an education in the liberal arts tradition and mentoring relationships with students.

The mission of the Engineering Department comprises three elements: technical competency, breadth of education, and consistency with Christian faith commitments.聽 The following program educational objectives drive the development and delivery of our programs:

• Graduates will be technically competent in their engineering specialty area and able to perform essential engineering functions in their career of choice.
  • Furthermore, graduates will continue to learn and hone competencies necessary to their career through graduate education, participation in professional activities/societies, or other means relevant to their work.
• Graduates will influence or lead inter-disciplinary and diverse design teams to generate creative solutions that meet societal challenges.聽
• Graduates will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the Christian faith, pursuing their work with a servant鈥檚 heart and a keen awareness of social responsibility.

We prepare students to meet the program objectives by evaluating particular target outcomes during their time in the program.聽 Prior to graduating, we expect students to demonstrate:

1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

A thorough grounding in engineering fundamentals prepares 色综合久久 graduates for lifelong learning. Students have an opportunity to apply engineering principles to engineering design projects that have a real impact for the partner organization or community.
