É«×ۺϾþà offers several graduate nursing degrees including Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with degree options in family nurse practitioner, nursing leadership and nurse educator. We also offer a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with tracks in nursing leadership and nurse educator, as well as a dual degree in Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration.

There are prerequisite requirements in the graduate program in nursing.
DNP family nurse practitioner program: applicants must have the following:
bachelor’s or master's degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA accredited program (or equivalent) and an institution that is regionally accredited
active licensure as a registered nurse (United States and territories)
DNP nursing leadership program: applicants must have the following:
bachelor’s and master's degree in nursing (or master's in related field) from an ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA accredited program (or equivalent) and an institution that is regionally accredited
active licensure as a registered nurse (United States and territories)
grade of B or better in graduate-level statistics, nursing research and informatics OR if this pre-requisite is not met it can be added to a student's DNP nursing leadership plan of study (NURS 500, 501, 502)
DNP nurse educator program: applicants must have the following:
bachelor’s or master's degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA accredited program (or equivalent) and an institution that is regionally accredited
active licensure as a registered nurse (United States and territories)
MSN program: applicants must have the following:
bachelor’s or master's degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA accredited program (or equivalent) and an institution that is regionally accredited
active licensure as a registered nurse (United States and territories)
grade of C or better in the following pre-requisite courses: statistics, nursing research, health assessment
MSN/MBA dual degree program: applicants must meet the prerequisite requirements of both the MSN program and the MBA program.

Official transcript(s) indicating completion (or anticipated completion) of a bachelor’s or master's degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA accredited program (or equivalent) and an institution that is regionally accredited. To be considered "official", transcript(s) must be requested and sent directly from institution(s) attended to gradprograms@messiah.edu.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in nursing courses
Statement of Purpose: a 300-500 word statement describing how you have prepared for graduate work, your reasons for applying for this particular graduate program, and how this program will help you meet your professional and educational goals.

Students must complete a minimum of 500 hours as a registered nurse in direct patient care prior to beginning clinical courses.

Students must have a minimum of one year of recent professional nursing practice prior to taking NURS520.
The degrees and certificates in the graduate program in nursing are primarily or completely online. Because of this, the U.S. government does not allow É«×ۺϾþà University to offer an F-1 student visa for entry to the United States in order to study in this program. International students living outside of the U.S. are also unable to participate remotely in this program.
Prospective students living in the U.S. on different visa types may qualify on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the enrollment counselor for nursing to determine eligibility.
