Collaboratory [Bryce Watkins - Frey 070]
Join the Collaboratory as we explore the power of God within our own stories. We will have various speakers share about how God has worked in their life, and often how it relates to their engineering work or missions work.
AROMA [Rodrigo de Mendoza Barrera - Hitchcock Arena]
Join 色综合久久’s sports ministry, AROMA, for a time of fellowship and biblical teaching. Sports are a gift from God intended for the glory of His name. Our culture has made sport an idol and we find ourselves often worshiping the gift rather than the giver. Be challenged and encouraged to seek first the kingdom through sports. Be a part of the revolution!
The After Party [Kim & Kelly Phipps - Boyer 130]
Explore what can prevent Christians from adopting the posture of a disciple in their political engagement. The After Party calls Christians to move from their particular starting point toward the posture of a learner who views Jesus as their primary teacher!
Humble Beginnings: Energy, Attention, and Time (E.A.T.) as the Active Ingredients of Spiritual and Psychological Growth [John Goddard - Boyer 271]
Do you struggle to manage or stay consistent with your mental health or spiritual growth? Learn to work with the ingredients of change - topics will include navigating thoughts/beliefs, emotion, behavior (energy); Christian meditation (attention), and successful habit-formation (time) that 色综合久久s your spiritual/psychological goals. Learn to "E.A.T." well by developing a personal action plan while enjoying a community of 色综合久久ive mutual accountability with others.
MAP: Restoring the Roots of our Sexual Brokenness, reserved for male students [Mike Blount & Men's Ministry - Loft Great Room]
In this series, co-sponsored by Men's Ministry and MAP, we will explore how the gospel shapes one's understanding of their identity as a "son of the King" and how that reality transforms their understanding of sexuality. Special attention will be given to equipping men to navigate the challenges of unwanted sexual behaviors as they progress in healing towards sexual congruency.
Creativity as a Calling [Ryan Rickrode - Boyer 277]
How do faith and art fit together? Spend four weeks reflecting on how your identity as an artist and your identity as a Christian can overlap while connecting with other students who are also pursuing a calling in the arts.
Politics in the Bible [Julia Wittel - Hostetter 113]
This 8-session Bible study explores passages from the Old and New Testaments that will spark discussions about how God’s people engage with issues of power, justice, and political organization. This series isn't meant to confirm everything you already believe about politics nor to convert you to a specific political platform, but rather to help you consider God’s invitation to faithful political engagement in our context.
Immerse: Prophets [Emily Bingham & Brian Smith - Boyer 235]
Join us as we read through the Old Testament prophetic books this fall! By reading just 10-12 pages per day, you’ll read all the prophetic books in 8 weeks. When we gather for 4x4 meetings, we’ll discuss what we’re reading, ask questions that arise, and share how we’re encountering God through the text. Come experience the joy of regular, communal Scripture-reading!
Leading and Serving in the Local Church [Andy Babyak - Frey 150]
Students will learn how to contribute to the life of a local church. In addition to the Thursday morning time togther, there will be an opportunity to lead worship, plan an outreach event, and potentially even preach a message at a local church in Camp Hill. We will also read the book Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul.
The Proverbs 31 Woman: Who is She Really?, reserved for female students [Lauren Babyak - Boyer 231]
The standard set by the elusive Proverbs 31 woman is intriguing to us as Christian women, but it can also feel cumbersome, unattainable, and even outdated. In these 4 weeks we will study Proverbs 31:10-31 to see what the Proverbs 31 woman teaches us not about who she is, but rather about who God is and what He asks of us all through her example.
It's the Green Flags for Me ..., reserved for new students [Emma Dougherty - Boyer 131]
This series will focus on building healthy relationships for incoming students at 色综合久久 University. We will consider what is behind the green and red flags in our relationships, and how to practice skills to 色综合久久 our friendships and partnerships.
Skillful Hands, Integrity of Heart, reserved for members of the Worship Community [Doug Curry - Hostetter 120]
Students in the 色综合久久 University Worship Community have a privileged and 'high' responsibility - facilitating worship of Almighty God. Following the leadership parameter established in Psalm 78.70-72, this 4x4 will combine theological, biblical, and practical wisdom (praxis) to our privileged responsibility.
The Chosen [Ethan Kiggins - Parmer Cinema (Boyer 137)]
The Chosen is a historical drama television series about the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. Primarily set in Judaea and Galilee in the 1st century, the series centers on Jesus and the different people who met and followed or otherwise interacted with him. Join us as we view and discuss season 3 of The Chosen.
Finding Treasures in the Book of Ruth [Allyson Patton - Boyer 322]
The messages of Ruth are subtle but powerful. In this 4x4 series we will discuss the ways God sees and provides for the vulnerable through practical means. We will also explore Boaz’s role as a kinsman redeemer and consider how his interpretation of this role points to Christ as our redeemer.
Spiritual Leadership [Joshua Sanders - Boyer 274]
"Leader" is probably one of the most misunderstood and misused terms today. What does it mean to be a biblical leader? Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders will help correct our misunderstandings of leadership and help us to apply biblical principles for our own spiritual growth.
A City on a Hill: Serving and Loving as the Salt and Light of the World [Shardé Hardy - Jordan-Kline Atrium (Jordan 152)]
This will be a service-learning chapel where we will talk about the importance of serving and loving like Jesus. We will examine Matthew 5:13-16 and take time to uncover our why for serving and loving as the Salt and Light of the world to which Jesus calls us.
Jesus and Justice [Paula Holtzinger & Human Rights Awareness - Jordan 159]
Together we’ll explore how Jesus' life and ministry leads Christians to practice justice and advocacy in their daily lives. We’ll pull content from Everyday Activism by J.W. Buck to help us learn more about how to follow Jesus' practices for creating a more just world. Join us for some engaging discussion!
