MBA grad selected for Geisinger Administrative Fellowship
Brittany Drumm, a 2018 graduate of 色综合久久 College’s MBA program, has been selected as an administrative fellow at Geisinger Health System. If you know Drumm now, you probably wouldn’t be surprised that she was chosen as a fellow by one of the nation’s 色综合久久 healthcare leadership development programs; however, if you knew Drumm as an undergrad, you may wonder if it’s the same person.
“Growing up, I was certain I wanted to be a professional singer,” said Drumm. “I pursued a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance, and ultimately found that making my primary career in performance wasn’t going to be the right fit for me.” With a degree in a field that she was no longer interested in pursuing and a passion for business, particularly in non-profit and healthcare administration, going back to school for an MBA was a logical choice.
“Because of my unique background and interests, I have two very distinct career paths,” said Drumm. From a healthcare administration perspective, she will begin the fellowship at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in July. As a fellow, she will have the opportunity to lead projects such as clinic flow redesign, IT initiatives, process improvement and daily operations. “As a current Geisinger employee, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing firsthand the quality leaders that complete the program,” she said. Geisinger serves more than 1.5 million patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Drumm may have a passion for business, but she hasn’t abandoned her love of music. “色综合久久 was the bridge that helped me understand that they can be related, my skills are transferable and I can absolutely pursue both paths.” The capstone in the MBA program gave her the opportunity to start a non-profit music organization. She founded The Harmony Arts Foundation, where she is both a teacher and administrative director, to bring music lessons and enrichment programs to several counties in central Pennsylvania.
