There are a wide variety of student positions on campus including Campus Events workers, Dining Services workers, office assistant positions in various administrative offices, lifeguards, tutors, library assistants, technical assistants, athletic workers, and more. Yes. However students may only work a maximum of 20 hours per week total from all jobs (during the academic year).
Yes. É«×ۺϾþà has an Institutional Work Program for those students who do not qualify for Federal Work Study. The Institutional Work Program is identical to the Federal Work Study Program in terms of wage rates, scheduled hours, available jobs, etc. Job assignments are based upon availability. No, you will not need to complete forms again. Of course, you would complete a new form to report a change of address, to request tax deduction changes or to change your bank account for direct deposit. Those forms can be found on the Payroll Office website.

No. Payroll forms only need to be completed one time. The forms carry over from job to job.

Your earnings will be paid directly to you and will not be applied directly to your student account. You will receive your pay either by direct deposit (we recommend that you set up direct deposit) or by a check mailed to your campus mailbox. Acceptance of a work assignment indicates that you are willing to keep that particular job for the entire semester. Therefore a student cannot change jobs during the semester without first securing permission from the current supervisor. Students who begin and subsequently quit a job prior to the end of the semester without the approval of the supervisor and/or the Student Employment Office may be ineligible to obtain another work assignment until the subsequent semester. Once a position is accepted, job changes may be made at the end of the semester or the end of the year, as positions are available.
Your supervisor will be in contact with you in regards to the specifics of your work schedule and start date. Most positions start right away at the beginning of the semester. Most students work approximately 8-10 hours per week, based on availability and department need.
Yes. You will need to bring identification for completion of the I-9 form. Please see pg. 9 of the I-9 Form for types of ID that are acceptable. You will need to show us one item from list A OR one item from both lists B & C. The most common types of ID are
(1) passport or
(2) driver’s license and social security card or
(3) driver’s license and birth certificate.
Please note:Â our office can not accept copies of your documents. You will not be permitted to start your job assignment until the Form I-9 is completed, so please be sure to bring your documents with you to campus.
In addition, if you want to set up direct deposit for your pay, you will also need to bring a voided check or verification from your bank. Direct deposit is highly recommended.

Opportunities for graduate students to be employed are generally provided by the Office of Human Resources & Compliance for administrative, staff and temporary positions. Graduate students are eligible to apply for any of the open positions under the "Administrative & Staff" section of the (). Employment opportunities for student openings are limited to positions within the Graduate Programs areas (primarily at the Winding Hill location).
A W-2 is a report that employers prepare for their employees which will state the wages paid and taxes withheld during the year. You will need the W-2 statement to file your annual tax return reports with the federal government, state government and local government.
Yes. W-2 statements are mailed to student employees at the end of January each year by the Payroll Office. W-2 statements are mailed to an employee’s ‘payroll’ address. For most employees, the payroll address is the same as your home address. Some international students and employees residing on campus will receive their W-2s via your campus mail address.

Each student employee is responsible for following local, state and federal tax guidelines as per their own particular circumstances. The Student Employment Office does not offer tax assistance.
The Student Employment Office/Payroll Office does not offer tax assistance. Contact a local tax office or tax service for tax assistance. Also, free tax services are offered on campus by the Department of Business. Call ext. 7300 for further information.
