Luke began his career with EY (Ernst & Young) in Chicago, IL where he led audits for publicly held billion-dollar corporations. Knowing corporate America was not the end goal, Luke eventually transitioned into a role as the Accounting Manager for a non-profit finance & business consulting firm. Here he managed the finances for five Chicago-based non-profit organizations, with missions from animal rights to underserved school children on Chicago’s south side.
Luke found tremendous passion serving the wonderful non-profit organizations in Chicago, but along with his wife, Hannah, knew eventually they had to follow their callings internationally. At the end of 2020, Luke and his wife moved to Kigali, Rwanda, where Luke accepted a job as the Controller of Rwanda Trading Company (RTC). Luke’s primary responsibilities are overseeing the financial reporting (internal and external), budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and financial close processes. RTC was founded with the intent of putting coffee farmers first, and relentlessly advocating for all members of the coffee supply chain to make a fair wage.
