Ahyeong Park ’17, a sociology/anthropology major and a psychology minor, was recently appointed a fellowship with the Asia Young Activist Researcher Fellowship.
She has worked as a Princeton In Africa Fellow at Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project. Prior to that, she served for a year with the Episcopal Service Corps at an inner-city fellowship placement site. Ahyeong’s senior thesis was about nutrition in rural Rwanda. Park has devoted her entire life to service. While working as a Princeton In Africa Fellow at Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, Park had the opportunity to travel to numerous places. In Ecuador, Park participated in the Street Children Projec; there, she helped children develop academic and social skills. This experience in Ecuador allowed Park the opportunity to build nutrition and hygiene awareness. In Rwanda, Park completed an internship and independent project regarding children malnutrition. Further, Park traveled to Fiji to work as a field researcher; there, she explored the sociological impact of clean water and focused on sustainability efforts to maintain clean water systems.
